Name Tags

9 Nov

Do you have occasion to wear a name tag? I participate in several stitching groups and name tags are encouraged. Sizzix has a number of label dies that make wonderful name tags. Here is how I prepare my name tag: fuse fabric to both sides of Peltex then die cut desired shape. Apply white glue to the side/perimeter, it’s about 1/8″ and dust with your favorite fine glitter. Yes you could stitch around the edge, but the glue and glitter is so quick and accents the edge without overpowering. Select your favorite Sizzix Flower Layer die and make an embellishment for your name tag. Use a Pigma Pen or other permanent none running ink pen to write your name. I usually use a corsage pin to pin my name tag to my garment.

Met with the Pins and Needles group and they made Name Tags from kits I prepared.

Do you recycle? Here is a project for you!

29 Oct

So, do you recycle?  For several years now I have been addicted to working with felted wool in my quilting projects.  Without a Local Quilt Shop close enough to provide the wool I want and need for my projects I have a considerable stash of recycled wool and the occasional other fabric when it is too awesome to pass up.  That’s where this Pumpkin Cushion got its start.  I couldn’t resist a skirt made of a beautiful irridescent green taffeta with a black velvet jacquard print.  Unfortunately the photo doesn’t do this beautiful fabric justice.  Die cut with my favorite Sizzix dies.  I used the Big Shot Pro Die Cutting Machine, 6″ Circle Die, Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers Die Tattered Leaves, Medium Die Flower Layers w/ Leaf #2 and a 1″ x 3″ rectangle.

Hello world! I love wool applique, do you?

29 Aug

I love all things quilting, sewing and crafts.  I have been using fusible applique shapes in my projects since 2001.  I hope you will enjoy my Die Cut applique projects.  My goal with these projects is to create works that are easy to finish in a minimal amount of them.  Perhaps you too will catch the wool applique bug and say “I want one of these projects wooly, wooly bad!”  As time permits I will put my wool applique projects on my Etsy sight at PrettyPennyPrecuts.  Happy Stitching!
